Winter & Psychological state

Oh....This morning when i woke up and opened my eyes....a weather seems to be very gloomy but nice. Yeah, it is nice because a snow is falling down gradually from a sky. Every single place has turned into white. As if all roads in this city have been changed to become a white carpet.

Now my mind is being enlightened to understand why there is a specific depression that only occurs during winter. Ibn khaldun has mentioned in his Muqaddimah (introduction) that one's level of temperament can be influenced by a temperature of place where he or she lives in. In fact, If we look at a current psychological disorder , winter that is related to gloomy, cold and less amount of sunlight can enhance a level of affective disorder.

A mood and spirit can also be affected by “snow”. Being able to monitor and regulate one's emotion is a very significant method so that human can function properly in his daily life. The weather can help us to understand what human is all about to some extent. Human is never fully understood since the beginning of his existence. In fact, the existence of relationship between environment, e.g. winter, and human condition should bring man to think about a creator of such relationship. In other words, varied relations between weather and one's emotion should bring human to contemplate more the one who has created such complexity and variability of relationship that changes according to a weather.

May Allah shed light on our mind as we contemplate all creations in the universe. Thinking of a beauty of creation without tying it to the creator is similar to people know a path without knowing where they are heading to. Yet, thinking of the creator without being able to think a beauty of His creations is similar to people who know a destination but know not to find a path.

Salju yang tak pamrih

Malam ini salju mulai turun untuk pertama kalinya....
warnanya putih seputih hati yang baru terlahir dan belum pernah tergurat oleh dosa-dosa yang diperbuat anak manusia.
Biarkan salju itu jatuh hingga menutupi segala apa yang ada di permukaan bumi....

Salju....
Engkau memberikan ketenangan
Engkau kibaskan semua yang ada di sisimu...
Dan engkau jatuh secara perlahan ke atas bibir bumii...

Namun...
Putih mu kini telah lenyap..
Warnanya telah berubah menjadi kecoklat-coklatan dan kehitam-hitaman...
Karena engkau telah terinjak-injak oleh kaki manusia yang semakin beringas !!

Maaf....
Engkau turun dari ribuan kilometer diatasku untuk membuat manusia merasa tenang,...karena segalanya menjadi putih, setelah engkau terjun bebas ke bumi....
Para manusia tak menghargai putihnya tubuh mu wahai salju....
Sekali lagi aku mohon maaafff atas nama anak cucu adam dan hawa.

Mereka hanya menerima putihmu yang polos dan lugu dengan hentakan-hentakan kaki mereka yang kasar...kasar..dan semakin kasar...

Manusia....
Salju.....
Putih mu tanpa pamrih...
Tapi hanya terbalas oleh kaki-kaki yang angkuh.....
